50 RELAXING THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU CAN’T THINK OF A RELAXING THING TO DO

  1. Take a warm bath

  2. Go for a walk

  3. Take a scenic ride

  4. Walk through the flower section in a plant nursery, breathe and enjoy.

  5. Meditate

  6. Work on a puzzle

  7. Write 3 small goals you would like to accomplish this week

  8. Re read one of your favorite books

  9. Go to a nearby library and browse through your favorite section.

  10. Go to your favorite park, walk and sit by your favorite tree and breathe.

  11. Go to a Petsmart or a Petco and visit with the animals

  12. Pick a museum you have always wanted to visit and make plans to go.

  13. Go for a bike ride

  14. Get up early and drive somewhere or get a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise.

  15. Listen to a positive, motivational podcast.

  16. Have a manicure or pedicure.

  17. Call a friend or family member that you enjoy and that makes you laugh.

  18. Go on YouTube and find a 10 minute yoga video.

  19. Sit with pen and paper, write silly, wonderful things that have happened to you and things that you love about yourself and mail it to yourself.

  20. Find a really beautiful, quiet spot, sit and take 10 deep breathes and just notice the beauty around you

  21. Plant an indoor cactus garden

  22. Listen to an episode of your favorite podcast.

  23. Put in your favorite music and dance!

  24. Plan a dinner that you really love and fix it for yourself, a friend or family member and put some great music on and chat.

  25. Put on or stream one of your most favorite funny movies.

  26. Plan to sleep outside under the stars or sleep by a window where you can see the moon and stars.

  27. Call a friend and meet for lunch or at Starbucks or somewhere where you can catch up.

  28. Find a comfortable, quiet spot. Think of a positive, loving, affirming word and slowly repeat it to yourself for 60 seconds with steady breath.

  29. Go to a nearby lake or beach if you have one and walk and listen to the birds and look at all the beauty.

  30. Grab 3 favorite art materials and a piece of paper and have at it! No judgement!

  31. Game with your favorite gaming friends and chat a couple minutes afterwards.

  32. Google free events near me and go do something you haven’t done before as long as it’s safe! ☺

  33. Get a piece of paper and pencil and finish this sentence: Three things I enjoy about me and my life are…

  34. Watch the sunset.

  35. Go to a nearby zoo or nature center.

  36. Put on your favorite calming music and open the windows and let the breeze in if it’s safe.

  37. Look for a community college or park district class you are passionate about or have always wanted to take and sign up.

  38. Call a friend you haven’t talked to in a long time.

  39. Brows in a book, record store or Target for as long as you want. (no list of things to get!)

  40. Make your favorite breakfast and have it in bed.

  41. Dress up in your favorite outfit.

  42. Check your local city or park district for free music or movie night and call a friend.

  43. Bake your favorite thing.

  44. Ask someone close to you to read to you.

  45. Find a favorite picture of you and a friend or family member and put a silly filter on it and share it with them and tell them how much you love them.

  46. Get a piece of paper and pen. Sit with a cup of tea and finish this sentence. One of my biggest dreams is….. (don’t limit it financially, or by time or ability! You are dreaming!)

  47. Put a raincoat on and walk in the rain. Smell the earth, notice the leaves being renewed and use your 5 senses to take in all the beauty.

  48. Take a coffee, tea, water or whatever you like. Sit outside and notice the sounds and smells around you while being silent. (if there is chatter in your head continue to dismiss it and return to the present)

  49. Look for a local prayer chapel or temple or just a quiet place and pray for 10 min. (no matter what your faith or not)

  50. Repeat this phrase 3 times…”THIS GIRL CAN!’
